WEBSITE ESSENTIALS / FORMS

Make inquiries
easier to start.

A good form turns “I’m interested” into a clear next step. It should explain what is needed, help people recover from mistakes and set an honest expectation about what follows.

LESS FRICTION / MORE CONTEXT
What can we help with?A clear request. The details we genuinely needA useful reply route. What happens nextNo surprises.

Purpose → necessary fields → useful feedback.

MAKE THE REQUEST USEFUL

Every field should earn its place.

01

A specific purpose

An enquiry, quote request and booking need different details. Start with the decision the business needs to make, rather than a long generic form.

02

Helpful feedback

Use visible labels, understandable instructions and errors tied to the field that needs attention. Keep keyboard use and small screens in mind.

03

An honest outcome

Differentiate validation, submission, receipt and a business response. “Received” should not imply “accepted,” “booked” or “answered.”

TRY THE FEEDBACK

No personal details required.

This demonstration uses preset sample choices only. It validates a topic; it never submits an enquiry.

A clear starting point

Try continuing without a topic to see the error, then choose one and try again.

BEFORE IT GOES LIVE

Know who owns what.

01

Business-owned destination

Choose and control the inbox, CRM or form service that receives messages. Agree who monitors it, how handoffs work and which account roles collaborators need.

02

Data and privacy decisions

Decide which fields are necessary, who can view responses and how long they are kept. Any consent wording or legal obligations require appropriate review for the business.

03

Reliable implementation

Live forms need server-side validation, suitable anti-abuse controls, error handling and tested delivery. Browser validation alone is not a security boundary.

BEFORE CONNECTING A FORM

Think beyond the submit button.

Plan the failure path.

What if the network drops, the destination rejects a message or somebody submits twice? The visitor needs a clear status and a safe way to retry. The business needs a way to notice problems.

Do not collect what you cannot protect.

A general enquiry form should not casually invite passwords, payment details or confidential customer records. Sensitive workflows need their own appropriate design.

What this example does not do

  • No email or lead is sent.
  • No CRM entry is created.
  • No responses are stored.
  • No anti-spam service is contacted.
  • No follow-up or response time is promised.

PLAN THE NEED, THEN THE IMPLEMENTATION

Plan a useful inquiry route.

Add the features you need to your planning brief. The implementation, provider choices and responsibilities still need a human review.
